About
A working artist and full-time professor, I am Studio Art Faculty and Department Chair at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. I studied Drawing and Painting at Alma College where I received my BFA in 2001. Then I refined my painting skills at Kendall College of Art and Design, where I earned my MFA in 2006.
I have exhibited my work as part of many group and solo exhibitions. I continue to push my personal expectations as my work grows and develops.
I currently live in Byron Center, Michigan with my husband, Matt, and our daughters Ava and Elle. Poncho Pug recently passed away, and Penelope Pug passed a few years ago. Both the girls and the pugs have subsequently been a source of inspiration in my work. We just welcomed two new pug puppies into our home. Their names are Poppy and Pickle. I’m sure it won’t be long before they show up in my work.
